11:10. Dismantling and assembly of the transmission

We remove the transmission from the car (see. "Removal and installation of the transmission on the car with the engine UEPA-331"). If the transmission is removed from the car together with a coupling case, we separate them (see. "Removal and installation of the transmission on the car with the engine UEPA-331") or we disconnect a pro-rate from a transmission case (see. "Replacement of an epiploon of a main shaft of the transmission on the car with the VAZ-2106 engine"). We clear the transmission of oil and dirt and we establish on a workbench.

We remove the speedometer drive (see. "Removal of the drive of a speedometer").

We remove the switch of lamps of a backing (see. "Replacement of the switch of lamps of a backing").

We remove a flange of the elastic coupling (see. "Replacement of an epiploon of a secondary shaft").

Head "on 12" we turn off two bolts of fastening of a back support of the power unit to a transmission arm.

We remove a cross-piece assembled with a back support of the power unit.

Head "on 14" we turn off two bolts of fastening of an arm to back transmission covers.

We remove an arm.

Cap key "on 12" we turn off six bolts of M8 of fastening of the top cover to a transmission case.

The back left bolt - is shorter than others.

Cap key "on 13" we turn off two more bolts of M10 aligning the top cover concerning a transmission case.

We remove the top cover together with the gear shifting mechanism...

... and laying.

For removal of a back cover of the transmission...

... a cap key "on 17" we turn off four nuts of fastening of a cover to a transmission case.

We uncover...

... and laying.

We remove the leading gear wheel of the drive of a speedometer from shlits of a secondary shaft...

... and conical expansion plug.

That secondary and intermediate shaft were not turned from each other...

... movement of couplings we include two transfers (on a photo inclusion of I and IV transfers is shown).

On the car with the VAZ 2106 engine persistent rings of the back bearing of a main shaft and the forward bearing of an intermediate shaft are recorded by a special bolt with a washer (in the car transmission with the engine UEPA-331 this bolt is not established).

This bolt is turned off by a head "on 12" with outer diameter no more than 17 mm...

... also we take out a bolt together with a washer.

Head "on 22" we turn off a bolt of the forward roller bearing of an intermediate shaft of the transmission.

We take out a bolt and a washer.

The bolt of the back bearing of an intermediate shaft of the transmission has the left carving...

... therefore a head "on 22" we turn off it clockwise.

We take out a bolt and a washer.

Movement of couplings we switch off transfers.

We remove a forward persistent washer of the forward bearing of an intermediate shaft.

Having hooked two screw-drivers for a persistent ring the forward bearing of an intermediate shaft...

... we take out an external ring of the bearing.

We take out a separator with rollers.

Having hooked the screw-driver, we shift an internal ring of the bearing on a shaft...

... also we take out it.

By tweezers it is removed from a shaft a back persistent washer of the bearing.

Having hooked two screw-drivers for a persistent ring the back two-row ball bearing of an intermediate shaft...

... we take out from a transmission case the bearing without its internal forward ring.

Having hooked the screw-driver, we shift an internal ring of the bearing on a shaft...

... also we take out it.

For removed a persistent ring of the bearing...

... by nippers it is unclenched a persistent ring...

... also we remove it.

We hook two screw-drivers for a persistent ring the back bearing of a main shaft...

... and, holding an intermediate shaft, we take out a main shaft together with the bearing from a transmission case.

For replacement of the back bearing of a main shaft we clamp a shaft shaft in a vice with overlays of sponges from soft metal.

By two screw-drivers it is unclenched a lock ring...

... also we take out it from a shaft pro-point.

Stripper we press the bearing from a main shaft...

... also we remove the bearing.

We remove the bearing.

Having shifted an intermediate shaft back...

... we take out it from a transmission case.

For a vypressovka of an axis of an intermediate gear wheel of a backing...

... we turn out the hairpin of fastening of a back cover of the transmission close to an axis.

We roll M10 bolt (is possible to use a bolt of fastening of the top cover of the transmission) passed throughout an opening of a cup stripper in a carving opening of an axis.

Wrapping a bolt, partially we press off an axis of an intermediate gear wheel...

... also we take out a clamp from a side opening of an axis (the cup stripper is for descriptive reasons removed).

Finally we press off an axis of an intermediate gear wheel, striking with a stripper cup a bolt head (at the same time we hold an intermediate gear wheel of a backing).

We take out an axis...

... and intermediate gear wheel.

We remove the lever of inclusion of a backing from an axis.

We remove a cracker from the lever.

For replacement of the needle bearing of an intermediate gear wheel slightly we clamp a gear wheel in a vice with overlays of sponges from soft metal.

Having hooked the screw-driver, we take out a lock ring of the bearing from a ring pro-point of a gear wheel.

We take out the bearing.

When dismantling a secondary shaft we mark the removed details with that. that at the subsequent assembly to put not defective details into place. We remove from a forward cone of a secondary shaft...

... and the blocking transfer synchronizer IV ring.

We remove from the back end of a secondary shaft...

... persistent washer...

... the conducted gear wheel of the I transfer...

Unclenching two screw-drivers, we bring out of a pro-point of a shaft and we remove a back lock ring of a nave of the I-II synchronizer of transfers.

We remove a nave of the I-II synchronizer of transfers...

... and the conducted gear wheel of the II transfer.

From a shponochny groove of a shaft we take out a segment spline of a nave of the I-II synchronizer of transfers.

Unclenching two screw-drivers a forward lock ring of a nave of the I-II synchronizer of transfers, we bring a ring out of a shaft pro-point...

... also we remove it.

We remove the bearing of a gear wheel of the II transfer.

We remove from the forward end of a secondary shaft...

... spring ring of the synchronizer IV of transfer...

... and coupling of the III-IV synchronizer of transfers.

By two screw-drivers it is unclenched a forward lock ring of a nave of the synchronizer III-IV of transfers...

... also we remove a ring.

We remove a nave of the synchronizer III-IV of transfers together with a spring ring of the synchronizer III of transfer.

We take out a spring ring from a nave.

We remove the blocking transfer synchronizer III ring.

By two screw-drivers it is unclenched a back lock ring of a nave of the synchronizer III-IV of transfers...

... and the conducted gear wheel of the III transfer.

We remove the transfer synchronizer V coupling.

By two screw-drivers it is unclenched a forward lock ring of a nave of the synchronizer V of transfer...

We take out a spring ring from a nave.

We remove the blocking transfer synchronizer V ring.

By two screw-drivers it is unclenched a back lock ring of a nave of the synchronizer V of transfer....

... and the conducted gear wheel of the V transfer.

For dismantling of the mechanism and the drive of gear shifting...

We remove a protective cover...

We establish by the lever of gear shifting rods in neutral situation.

We take out a bracket of an ottyazhny spring of the lever of gear shifting from an opening in the top cover (on the right side) and we disconnect a spring from a bracket.

Key "on 10" we turn off three nuts of hairpins of fastening of a spherical support of the lever of gear shifting...

... also we take out the lever assembled with a cover, a flange, a spherical support and an ottyazhny spring from the top cover of the transmission.

We remove an ottyazhny spring...

... and a lever cover with a flange.

We separate a cover from a flange.

We remove laying of a flange and a support.

Having pressed on a basic washer, we squeeze a spring of the lever and by nippers it is unclenched a lock ring.

We remove a lock ring from the lever...

We remove the directing cup...

By the Shlitsevy screw-driver it is turned off four stoppers of rods of inclusion of transfers on a back wall of the top cover...

Cap key "on 10" we turn off four lock bolts of heads of rods of inclusion of transfers.

Bolts are stopped by spring washers.

Cap key "on 10" we turn off four lock bolts of forks of inclusion of transfers (these bolts do not differ from lock bolts of heads).

We remove a fork of inclusion of the III-IV transfers from a rod.

The Shlitsevy screw-driver we turn off a stopper of a clamp of a rod of inclusion of the III-IV transfers...

... we take out it...

... also we take a spring and a ball from the channel of a cover.

Similarly we turn off traffic jams and we take out clamps of rods of inclusion of the I-II, V transfers and a backing.

Having shifted a rod of inclusion of the III-IV transfers forward, we remove a rod head.

Through an opening in a back wall of a cover we take out a rod of inclusion of the III-IV transfers.

From an opening in a rod we take out a pusher of the blocking device.

Having shifted inclusion rods I-II and V transfers...

... from a nest of a rod of inclusion of the III-IV transfers we take two balls of the blocking device.

We remove a head of a rod of inclusion of the I-II transfers.

We take out a rod of inclusion of the I-II transfers...

... also we remove a fork.

We remove a head of a rod of inclusion of the V transfer.

We take out a rod of inclusion of the V transfer and we remove a fork.

Having shifted a rod of inclusion of transfer of a backing...

... from a nest of a rod of inclusion of the V transfer we take the third ball of the blocking device.

From an opening of a rod of inclusion of the V transfer we take out the second pusher of the blocking device.

We remove a rod head from a rod of inclusion of transfer of a backing.

We take out a rod of inclusion of transfer of a backing and we remove a fork.

Before survey of a detail of a box it is washed carefully out by gasoline or kerosene.

On a case and in covers of the transmission there should not be cracks, in nests under bearings and rods - damages and wear tracks. On working surfaces of a secondary shaft, an axis of an intermediate gear wheel of a backing, in a pro-point of a main shaft under the needle bearing there should not be damages, roughnesses, zadir and wear tracks.

On intermediate to a shaft damages and excessive wear of teeths and surfaces under bearings are not allowed.

We eliminate small damages with a small emery cloth or a velvet file.

On gear wheels and wreaths of synchronizers there should not be damages or excessive wear of teeths.

Special attention needs to be paid on a condition of end faces of teeths of wreaths of synchronizers. The contact spot in gearing of teeths of gear wheels has to settle down on all surface of teeths. The assembly axial gap between a fillet of a secondary shaft and end faces of gear wheels III and V transfers has to be within 0,05-0,10 mm (maximum permissible - 0,15 mm).

Ball, roller and needle bearings of shaft should not have traces of zadir and wear.

Rods of inclusion of transfers have to slide freely in nests of the top cover. Deformation of forks of gear shifting is not allowed. Pushers and balls of the blocking device should not jam in channels of the top cover. We replace springs of clamps at loss of elasticity new.

On the surfaces of sliding of naves and couplings of synchronizers of inclusion of transfers there should not be zadir. End faces of teeths of couplings and the blocking rings, and also working conic surfaces of the blocking rings should not have damages and excessive wear.

We assemble the transmission in the return sequence. At assembly we oil box details gearbox.

At assembly of the mechanism of gear shifting it is necessary to watch that at installation of rods of inclusion it is transferred pushers of the blocking device balls — from channels of a cover did not drop out of rods, and. Forks of inclusion of the I-II, III-IV and V transfers are interchanged. But at assembly we establish them on the places. We wrap four stoppers of rods of inclusion of transfers on a back wall of the top cover, previously having greased their carving part with sealant. We grease a spherical support of the lever of gear shifting and grooves of heads of rods with Litol-24 lubricant.

At assembly of a secondary shaft we establish naves assembled with cutting spring rings. Three bent ledges of each ring have to be directed towards the conducted gear wheel of the corresponding transfer and pass through grooves in a nave. At installation of couplings of synchronizers on naves ledges of spring rings have to coincide with the cut-off teeths of couplings. We replace the deformed lock rings of naves new.

Suitable piece of a pipe napressovyvay back bearing of a main shaft.

In the same way after installation in a case of the transmission of intermediate and secondary shaft napressovyvay on shaft forward and back bearings of an intermediate shaft, the back bearing of a secondary shaft.

We tighten bolts of bearings of an intermediate shaft the ordered moment (see. "Appendix").

At installation of a main shaft assembled with the bearing in a case of the transmission it is necessary to watch that...

... that the persistent ring of the bearing of a main shaft was not imposed on a persistent ring of the forward bearing of an intermediate shaft with an overlap, and entered a ring cut.

On the car with the VAZ-2106 engine persistent rings of bearings are in addition fixed by the bolt shown on a photo 16 and 17.

On all sealing laying it is desirable to apply a thin film of silicone sealant.

At installation of the top cover assembled with the gear shifting mechanism all forks of inclusion of forward transfers have to enter grooves of couplings of synchronizers, and a cut of a fork of the reverse gear — a finger of the lever of inclusion of a backing.

After assembly we check ease of rotation of shaft and clearness of inclusion of transfers.
