19:16. Control system of the economizer of compulsory idling (ECI)

The EPHH system (control of the economizer of compulsory idling) serves for decrease in fuel consumption and toxicity of the fulfilled gases. The system consists of the electropneumatic valve, the control unit and the microswitch. The side union of the electropneumatic valve is connected by a tube to a pneumatic valve of the economizer of compulsory idling in the carburetor, and the central union — to a branch pipe of an inlet pipe. The micro switch is installed on a carburetor arm, the electropneumatic valve and the control unit — on a motor board.

The EPHH systems on cars with engines UEPA-331 and VAZ-2106 are structurally identical and differ only with the device of economizers of carburetors and type of control units (on the engine UEPA-331 the block 252.3761, on the VAZ-2106 engine - the block 25.3761 or 2533.3761 is used).

The system so works. The control unit continuously controls the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine. With a frequency of rotation of 1500 мин-1±5 to % and the closed butterfly valve (the mode of compulsory idling) the control unit switches-off the electropneumatic valve, his internal cavity is reported with the atmosphere, and the related pneumatic valve of the economizer of the carburetor blocks supply of fuel in system of idling. At decrease in frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine till 1245 мин-1±5% the control unit turns on the electropneumatic valve, and supply of fuel in system of idling is resumed. At an open butterfly valve giving of tension to the electropneumatic valve is provided by the microswitch which rychazhok is influenced by a shoulder of the lever of the drive of a butterfly valve.

Malfunction of the EPHH system is shown in breakthroughs of the car at the movement with a small speed, engine stops in the mode of idling or flashes in engine cylinders after switching off of ignition. Check of operability of the EPHH system and dismantle of its elements on cars with engines UEPA-331 and VAZ-2106 are carried out almost similarly.

For check of the control unit of the EPHH system idling we increase the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft up to 1500 min.-1 and we remove the drive from one of microswitch conclusions. At the serviceable control unit turns of a bent shaft will begin "to float" within 1200-1500 min.-1, at faulty — will remain stable. For check of a pneumatic valve of the economizer of the carburetor during the operation of the engine idling we disconnect a tube from its union — the engine has to stop. The faulty pneumatic valve is replaced (see. "Carburetor").

For check of an elektrolnevmoklapan on the working engine we disconnect a wire from one of its contacts. At a serviceable pneumatic valve of the economizer of the carburetor the engine has to stop during 1-2 pages. If the engine continues to work, the electropneumatic valve should be replaced.

For check of the microswitch we disconnect wires from its conclusions (see. "Removal of the microswitch").

We connect ohmmeter probes to microswitch conclusions (for descriptive reasons the photo is made on the removed microswitch).

At the serviceable microswitch resistance between conclusions has to be close to zero (contacts are closed). When pressing a rychazhok...

... resistance between conclusions increases indefinitely (contacts are opened).
